Experience the Benefits of Acupuncture Injection Therapy

To aid in chronic pain management, acupuncture injection therapy has been used for years. In traditional Chinese medicinal practices, vitamins, Chinese herbs, and other homoeopathic substances were injected into acupuncture points to help with chronic pain, muscles spasms, and inflammation. We only use a saline solution in Australia which meet the standards set out by TGA pharmaceutical companies.

Tips for Getting More Value Out of Point Injection Therapy Acupuncture

Here are a few ways to help you get the most out of your acupuncture injection therapy session.

  • Don’t overeat before your treatment. Trying to digest a large meal while lying on the table for your acupuncture treatment can make you feel quite uncomfortable which will cause the body to use tonnes of energy in the stomach region which means that energy will be unable to flow anywhere else. On the other hand, it can be equally detrimental to not eat at all as your blood sugar may be low leading to light-headedness. Eat a small meal, and you should be comfortable for the duration of the session.
  • Show up a few minutes early. Before your first treatment, there is some paperwork that we require our patients to fill in to make sure that we know your full medical history. Arriving late can cause extra stress before your session as you will be rushed which will cause your practitioner to have to rush to meet their next appointment, so you probably won’t be able to enjoy your full session. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, try to arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time for paperwork and relaxation.
  • Don’t drink alcohol for at least 24 hours after your treatment.

Related Services We Provide to Point Injection Therapy Acupuncture

We provide various services to help our patients experience pain relief.

  • Cupping therapy. This ancient Chinese practice is used to increase blood flow to aid in muscle relaxation. Many describe the after-effects as similar to that of a deep tissue massage. Cupping has been said to serve multiple purposes from assisting in the treatment of internal diseases to the usual aches and pains of daily life. There are many types of cups used in this procedure which depend on your specific issues from glass and bamboo to rubber. Dry cupping, fire cupping (which creates suction), and wet cupping can all be used with the various cup materials to achieve specific results.
  • Gua Sha therapy. Also known as ‘scraping therapy’ Gua Sha has a long history in ancient Chinese traditional medicine. This treatment is non-invasive and is the practice of rubbing the skin to increase blood circulation and is done by first applying Gua Sha ointment, then using the Gua Sha tool – there are many tools that can be used such as coins, soup spoons, and pebbles – we slowly make long, continuous strokes from the neck down to the lower back. This treatment can be performed on other areas of the body, so please ask us if you are interested in learning more.
